I hold a Master and Bachelor degree of Social Work from Memorial University in my home province of Newfoundland. However, I have been residing in Kingston, Ontario for many years and I am proud to call this beautiful city my family’s home.
I am a registered social worker and clinical counsellor who has been providing services to adults, families, and children since 2007. I love working with people and I believe we are all experts in our own lives. I offer a collaborative approach to therapy. I provide timely, confidential, and cognitive therapeutic services to individuals, couples, & families experiencing:
- Inter-personal conflict (family, couples, parent/child)
- Depression
- Anxiety & intrusive thoughts
- Poor body image & disordered eating
- P.T.S.D.
As a counsellor, my approaches include talk (narrative) therapy, cognitive behavioral (CBT) therapy, family systems therapy, and attachment theory. The model I use involves setting goals and working on them together. I work with my clients to understand their struggles by understanding their thoughts, feelings, physical reactions, and behaviors and how they all fit together. A change in one aspect of our thoughts can have significant influence in everyday life.
